(Mkini) MCA Wanita chief Heng Seai Kie has defended her call to execute the kin of DAP and PKR members who purportedly discredited Malaysia in China over the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
Instead, Heng hit back at DAP, which had since lodged several police reports against MCA leader over her Facebook remarks.
She singled out DAP’s Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming who has on Twitter fiercely excoriated her.
“My Facebook post, made three days ago, was based on what my friend shared with me. I did question if it did happen (on whether DAP and PKR leaders were spreading rumours).
“It was a private interaction between me and friends or colleagues. I cannot fathom why Nga was so interested with my Facebook content,” she said in a statement today.
Heng’s Facebook posting, which was in Chinese, is translated as follows: “It is understood the Chinese families of the plane crash are so angry today because DAP and PKR have entered China’s largest media platform, WeChat and WeiBo.
“These few days they have been using these two platforms to spread rumours and cause emotional confusion to the families, making the whole of China belittle and doubt our government. Even China’s officials are getting their information from WeChat and WeiBo.
“If this is true, DAP and PKR, for the sake of their own political agenda have become traitors who discredit our own country without hesitation, they should be severely punished with the ‘nine familial extermination'”.
Guilt by association
The “nine familial extermination” was the most serious punishment for a capital offence in ancient China such as treason.
Under the punishment, family members, close and distant relatives down to the ninth level, would all be executed for simply being associated with the offender.
Heng asked if DAP’s intense reaction to her Facebook posting meant the allegation was true.
“If their answer is yes, then they should ask themselves if their attitude is in line with the Malaysian spirit. If they answer no, then how can they say I am accusing them?” she said.
She added that people should united in time of national crisis and defend the country instead of being influenced by “irresponsible politicians”.
Yesterday, Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng lodged a police report against Heng for the Facebook posting and another police report followed today by a group of DAP political aides in Perak.
